Residential Treatment Care (RTC)
Often addiction is partially caused by an assortment of underlying issues and as a result of these issues, clients have been “self-medicating” with alcohol and/or drugs and it has developed into an addiction from which they cannot recover on their own (without the help of treatment professionals).
Given that the causes of addiction are generally 50% Bio-Medical (genetic) and 50% Social/Environmental, clients generally have various areas that need to be addressed in order to start working towards sustained recovery.
- Just a few of the underlying issues we often see are:
- Trauma history and PTSD (Post-Traumatic stress)
- Mental Health Diagnoses and Issues
- Inability to Cope with Stress or Difficult Emotions
- Inability to process grief and loss
- Long and Short-Term Physical Pain
- Medical Issues
- Low Self-esteem and Self Worth
- Family of Origin Problems
Throughout the process of residential treatment, with the help of competent professionals, you will begin to understand why you have been using and have the opportunity to start processing and treating your underlying issues. This is done through a unified approach with your therapist and treatment team, to ensure the best possible outcome.
Residential treatment is just the beginning of working on these underlying issues which may need continued long-term treatment and monitoring to recover from. Underlying issues may take months or sometimes even years to address properly.
Mainstay Recovery works closely with many Residential facilities and has carefully selected the ones we trust in which to refer you to.
